Outlook Express - Email Account Settings

1. In the main Outlook Express window click Tools -> Accounts and the "Internet Accounts" window will appear.

2. In the Internet Accounts window click Add -> Mail

3. Enter your full name and click "Next"

4. Select "I already have an email address….", enter your email address and click "Next"

5. Our email servers support both POP3 & IMAP protocols. POP3 is the older and more popular protocol, so most users will choose this.

6. In the [Incoming mail….server] box, type pop.netservers.co.uk (This name is valid for both POP3 & IMAP services)

7. Users subscribed to our Email Virus Filtering service should enter av1.netservers.co.uk in the [Outgoing mail(SMTP) server] box. Others should enter mail1.netservers.co.uk.

8. Then click "Next"

9. Enter the Login and Password given to you by Netservers.

10. Tick "Remember password" and ensure that "Logon using…..SPA" is not ticked.

11. Click "Next"

12. Click Finish to Return to the "Internet Accounts" window

13. Highlight the newly created "pop.netservers.co.uk" account and click "Properties"

14. Click on the "Servers" tab and tick the "My server requires authentication" box

15. To secure the connection to your mailbox with SSL encryption. This step is optional. If you don't want to use encryption, skip this step.

Click the "Advanced" tab and tick both "This server requires a secure connection" boxes. The port number for SMTP is usually 25, although port 465 is also a valid SSL-SMTP port. Outlook will automatically select either port 993 (for IMAP) or 995 (for POP3) for the incoming server.

16. Click OK to return to the "Internet Accounts" window and click Close

17. Now click "Send/Recv" to test your new account
